Steve is a woodworking craftsman, who works from an individual studio at his home on the outskirts of Bellefonte. He enjoys working with locally salvaged hardwood trees from around Centre County. Many of the trees come from landmarks or local property owners that need to have a tree removed due to age or disease, and want to see the wood go to good use. The main focus is on a variety of Shaker style boxes, while in recent years Steve has been making many live edge pieces including clocks, tables and serving boards.

David Whiteman is a local photographer who bought his first camera in 1977 when he was in the U.S. Air Force. It was Canon AE-1. He shot landscapes and vacation photos, but he knew next to nothing about composition, aperture, exposure, or shutter speed, and he remembered thinking that the camera couldn’t replicate what He was seeing with his own eyes. What started then as a hobby became his passion nearly 30 years later when he purchased his first digital camera. That camera, coupled with a growing understanding of the editing techniques in Photoshop®, allowed him to bring his photos to life in a way that matched his vision and imagination.
For David photography has always been about learning. Learning by attending workshops. Learning by exploring the work of other photographers. Learning by trying new techniques. His quest for beautiful photos has taken him all over the country and all over the world, yet He always find endless possibilities right here where he lives in Centre County, Pennsylvania. Our environment is changing. Our world is changing. David considers it a privilege to use his camera to document and interpret the extraordinary beauty around us—images that years from now may no longer exist.
